At OIC meet, India flays terror funding

  1. Addressing 46th session of foreign ministers meet at Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Abu Dhabi, Indian External Affairs Minister has said that the fight against terrorism is not a confrontation against any religion.
  2. However, Pakistan’s foreign minister skipped the meeting over OIC’s refusal to revoke its invitation to India as India has been invited to a meeting of the OIC for the first time as the guest of honour.
  3. Organisation of Islamic Cooperation is an international organization founded in 1969, consisting of 57 member states. It is the second largest inter-governmental organization after the United Nations.
  4. The organisation states that (a)it is the collective voice of the Muslim world” and (b) works to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony. The OIC has permanent delegations to the United Nations and the European Union.
