Labour force participation rate (LFPR)

  • The labour force participation rate is the percentage of the working population aged 16 to 64 that are currently employed or looking for work in the economy. Anybody who is still in school, housewives, and people over the age of 64 are excluded from the labour force.
  • The figure is calculated by dividing the total non-institutionalized, civilian working-age population by the sum of all workers who are employed or actively seeking employment.
