Moral Objectivism

Moral objectivism is the school of thought that says there are objective moral truths and that some actions are right for all people, at all times and that others are wrong for all people at all times.

Moral facts are like physical facts and they don’t vary and can be stated objectively. Objectivist theories tend to come in two sorts:

  • Duty Based Theories (or Deontological Theories)
  • Consequentialist Theories (or Teleological Theories)
